I'm a Bachelor of Science in Nursing student at the University of Florida, graduating in 2028. I am passionate about nursing research and nursing data, and how both can transform the nursing profession. Nursing is one of the professions closest to human life, and nursing research sits at its foundation as nurses address patient needs, identify clinical problems, and conduct systematic research to improve patient care and strengthen the overall healthcare system. Through my work as an undergraduate researcher, my goal is to turn everyday clinical problems into data-driven solutions that strengthen nursing care.

Palliative-Oriented Nursing Care for Hospitalized Patients with Advanced Dementia

Research focus
Nurses routinely provide symptom assessment, comfort measures, family communication, and interdisciplinary care coordination for hospitalized patients with advanced dementia. Much of this work is not explicitly labeled as palliative care in clinical documentation. This project identifies and characterizes these practices so they can be examined more accurately in electronic health record data.
My responsibilities
I conduct a rapid review of peer-reviewed literature, organizing findings across nursing assessment, intervention, communication, and care-coordination domains. I then map the identified practices to NANDA-International, Nursing Outcomes Classification, and Nursing Interventions Classification terminology to identify what is represented in EHR-based care plans and what may be missing.
